Admissions

Admissions

International School Haarlem offers primary and secondary education in an English-speaking environment. The school welcomes applications from students from all over the world who can demonstrate a need for international education.

Requirements for admission to a DIS (Dutch International School)

DIS are acknowledged and funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Therefore, admission requirements are based on national regulations.

A student will be admitted to an international department if he or she complies with at least one of the following conditions:

The student has a non-Dutch nationality (or: also a non-Dutch nationality) and has a parent who is working in The Netherlands (or in a Dutch border region) for a limited time

The student has a Dutch nationality and has attended an international school abroad for at least two years because a parent was stationed abroad. The parents would like their child(ren) to continue international education after arriving in The Netherlands.
The student has a Dutch nationality and a parent (with whom the student will be living) who will be stationed abroad within two years of admission for at least two years. This must be confirmed in writing by the parent’s employer.

We ask parents of prospective students to send us the completed pre-application form through Open Apply, our admission platform. Completing the pre-application form is required before requesting a school visit.

Please note:

At this point, all applications for MYP4, MYP5 and DP (Secondary) are temporarily suspended. This is to be transparent and fair with numbers on our current waitlist. Please check back for further updates as we move through the Winter term.

We will aim to respond within 10 working days (and excluding holidays) if your child is eligible for admission to our school, if we can place him/her on the requested start date and if and when a school visit is possible.

Kindly note it is possible to schedule a school visit once step 2 the application process has been completed and the registration fee had been paid. Due to high demand there can be a waiting time for a school visit.

If your child(ren) can be admitted and you wish to arrange a school visit we can check availability and confirm potential days/times.

  • Tuesday: 9.00 am-11.00 am (Primary and MYP1-5)
  • Thursday: 9.00 am-11.00 am (Primary and MYP 1-3)
  • Friday: 12.20 am-13.20 pm (DP)
